Roche De Smet | Jasper National Park

Roche De Smet | Jasper National Park Roche de Smet was named in 1896 after Pierre-Jean De Smet. In the spring of 1846, De Smet began his return following the established York Factory Express trade route to the Columbia District. He headed west to Jasper House, and with considerable suffering followed the route; crossing the Great Divide by Athabasca Pass, to the Canoe River, the north-most tributary of the Columbia River, and eventually onto Fort Vancouver some one thousand miles […]

Mighty Fraser | Mt Robson Provincial Park

Mighty Fraser | Mt Robson Provincial Park Had the opportunity today to photograph Drew Currie from Maligne Adventures crushing the base of Rearguard Falls. Rafting or Kayaking the Fraser is top-notch fun and should be on anybody’s to-do list when visiting the Canadian Rockies. Get Out And Explore! Share with friends & family! Family Time | Athabasca River Valley

Family Time | Athabasca River, Jasper National Park After spending countless hours tracking this herd of Elk over the past week, I captured this outstanding shot when the herd crossed the Athabasca River to get to a new feeding patch on the other side. The patience it takes to get a photo like this is worth it when you’re able to capture a moment in time, that most never see. Get out and Explore! Share with friends & family! The Mocking | Athabasca River

The Mocking | Athabasca River, Jasper National Park Here are the first photos of a series I’ve been working on tracking and photographing the Elk herds in Jasper National Park. This might be one of the most adorable photos I’ve ever taken. He was obviously feeling a little silly and seemed to mock me. Apparently this little one thinks 4 legs are better than 2. Cloud 9 | Tonquin Valley

Deep in the backcountry of Jasper National Park, I had just completed a 24 km hike with a 60lb pack. With the temperatures plummeting, and muscles sore only the magnificent views could keep me from my tent and much needed sleep. Dusk was settling in and I thought to myself “is this my utopia?” Parks Canada Info: www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/ab/jasper/activ/ap-bc/sugg-sentiers_trip-ideas/Tonquin.aspx Share with friends & family! RAM | Athabasca River Valley

RAM | Athabasca River Valley While out on a hike yesterday afternoon, I came across a herd of 10 Big Horn Sheep basking in the sun. This one male decided he did not enjoy me taking photos of him, he rose up and eyed me down. It didn’t take long for him to bow his head down to warn me that I was not welcome on His hill.
